Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sober Tracker handles your information. We aim to keep the app supportive, privacy-conscious, and transparent about what data is stored on your device and what limited technical information may be sent to Moon Mermaids Media to operate, maintain, and improve the app.
Effective Date
26 March 2026
Information We Collect
Sober Tracker does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number in order to use the app.
The app may process two broad categories of information:
- Information you choose to enter into the app, such as your sobriety start date, milestone settings, reminder preferences, relapse entries, or other recovery-tracking details
- Limited technical information sent by the app to Moon Mermaids Media’s own servers, such as an app installation identifier, app and device details, settings-related information, and limited usage timing information
Sober Tracker does not require you to create an account or submit your name, email address, or phone number. The technical information described above is first-party data collected directly by us from the app, not only through Apple services.
How Your Data Is Used
The information we collect is used only to:
- Show your sober streak, recovery milestones, money saved, reminders, and other progress features inside Sober Tracker
- Store and present the information you choose to track so the app works as expected on your device
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Sober Tracker, including understanding app installs, activity patterns, app versions in use, and general technical performance
- Keep the app stable, secure, and improve performance by reviewing diagnostics, error conditions, and install analytics when available
We do not sell your personal information, rent it, or share it with third-party advertisers.
On-Device Tracking Data
Your tracking data, including sobriety dates, milestones, reminder settings, progress views, and similar app content, is intended to remain on your device unless your device or Apple account backs it up through Apple services that you control, such as iCloud device backups.
Server-Side Installation Analytics
When Sober Tracker starts and at certain later times while it is in use, the app may send limited installation and technical analytics to Moon Mermaids Media’s servers. We use this first-party information to understand app availability and usage at a general level, support app functionality, investigate technical issues, and improve reliability and performance.
We do not use this installation analytics feed to serve ads, sell data, or broker data to third parties. We do not intentionally combine this feed with your name, email address, or other directly identifying contact information unless you separately contact support and choose to provide that information.
Sharing
We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With service providers or hosting providers that help us operate or secure the Moon Mermaids Media website or backend infrastructure, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations
- With Apple for app distribution, payments, diagnostics, or platform features that you enable or use
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the service
We do not sell personal information and we do not share installation analytics with third-party advertising networks.
Data Retention
Data stored locally in the app remains on your device until you delete the app, remove the entries, or clear the app’s data through available system controls.
Server-side installation analytics are retained for up to 24 months after the most recent receipt for that installation ID, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving an active support issue. After that, we delete or de-identify the data.
Third-Party Services
Sober Tracker may rely on third-party services provided by Apple, including:
- The Apple App Store for app distribution, updates, and review features
- Apple analytics, diagnostics, or crash-reporting tools if enabled on your device
These services operate under Apple’s own privacy terms and settings, which you can manage through your Apple device and account preferences.
Children’s Privacy
Sober Tracker is designed for a general audience and is intended for personal wellbeing and habit tracking. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so we can review and address it.
Your Choices
You can stop using the app at any time, uninstall it from your device, and manage notifications, permissions, analytics, diagnostics, and backup settings through your Apple device settings. Uninstalling the app stops future installation analytics from being sent from that device unless the app is installed again.
You may also email [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of server-side installation analytics associated with your app installation ID, or to ask privacy-related questions. If you contact us from within the app or provide enough information for us to locate the record, we will review and process the request in accordance with applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app improvements, legal requirements, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
