Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how QuickReads handles your information. We aim to keep the app simple, privacy-conscious, and transparent about what data is and is not collected when you use QuickReads.

Information We Collect

QuickReads does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number in order to use the app.

Depending on how you use the app and your device settings, QuickReads may store or process limited app-related and technical information, such as:

Saved Books data, including the IDs of books you save and the date each book was saved
Onboarding and preference settings stored on your device, such as your selected reading goal, preferred reading time, whether reminders are enabled, and your chosen reminder time
Limited installation and onboarding event data sent to Moon Mermaids Media web infrastructure, including app name, app version, build number, device model, an app-generated device identifier, iOS version, interface style, locale, timezone, network type, event timestamp, and your selected onboarding goal when onboarding is completed
Backup metadata for automated backups, such as app identifier, app version, model version, backup creation date, saved book IDs, and saved timestamps
Subscription and entitlement status information made available through Apple's App Store and StoreKit systems
Limited device, system, analytics, crash, or diagnostic information that may be made available through Apple services if enabled on your device
Requests for remote book cover images hosted on Moon Mermaids Media web infrastructure when covers are displayed in the app or used in sharing flows

QuickReads does not require your name or personal contact details for normal app use. Most reading content, such as book summaries, key points, quotes, intros, titles, authors, genres, and release data, is bundled in the app itself rather than fetched from our servers during normal reading.

How Your Data Is Used

The limited information described above is used only to:

Let you save books, restore saved books, and continue using the app across your own devices where Apple sync is available
Store your onboarding and reminder preferences on your device
Send internal install and onboarding completion alerts so we can monitor new installs and first-run onboarding completion
Create and rotate automated backup files in your iCloud container
Validate purchases, manage subscription access, and restore eligible purchases through Apple's systems
Display book cover images and prepare shareable book images when you choose to use sharing features
Improve app performance, monitor stability, and review anonymised or Apple-provided diagnostics where available

We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with third-party advertisers.

Install and Onboarding Event Alerts

QuickReads may send a limited event alert to Moon Mermaids Media web infrastructure when the app is first launched after installation and when onboarding is completed.

These alerts may include the app version, build number, device model, an app-generated device identifier stored locally for this purpose, iOS version, interface style, locale, timezone, network type, event timestamp, and the onboarding goal you selected when you complete onboarding.

We use this information only for internal operational awareness, product monitoring, and support planning. We do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not require your name, email address, or phone number for these alerts.

On-Device Reading Data and Preferences

QuickReads does not require a login. Saved Books and related preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks provided by iOS.

This may include your saved book selections, onboarding completion state, selected reading goal, preferred reading window, reminder settings, migration state from older app versions, and the last backup date shown in the app.

iCloud Sync and Automated Backups

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, QuickReads may sync Saved Books through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit-enabled data storage.

QuickReads may also create automated backup files in the app's iCloud Documents container. These backups are designed to help restore your Saved Books and currently include backup metadata together with saved book IDs and the dates they were saved.

Based on the current app logic, daily backups may be retained for up to 7 backups and monthly backups for up to 3 backups. We do not receive direct access to your personal iCloud account contents simply because you enable iCloud on your device.

Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data for account creation or user profiles, we do not maintain a traditional personal account profile about you for normal app use. Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete the app or remove the content through available app or system controls. If iCloud sync or automated backups are enabled, related data may also remain in your personal iCloud account until it is removed through Apple's iCloud controls. Temporary share images created during sharing flows may remain briefly in your device's temporary storage until cleared by the system or overwritten.

Notifications and Reminders

If you choose to enable reminders, QuickReads may ask for notification permission and schedule a repeating daily local notification on your device based on the reading time you selected.

These reminders are designed to support your reading habit. You can change notification permissions or disable reminders at the device level. We do not need your phone number for these reminders.

Sharing Features

QuickReads includes sharing features that may create a composed image on your device using a book cover and QuickReads branding. When you use this feature, the app may temporarily download the relevant book cover image, generate a share image on-device, write that image to temporary storage, and open the iOS share sheet so you can decide whether and where to share it.

If you choose to share content through another app or service, that destination handles the shared data under its own privacy terms and practices.

Subscriptions and Purchases

QuickReads offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions that provide access to premium book summaries and features. All billing, free trials, renewals, cancellations, purchase restoration, and subscription management are handled directly through your Apple ID and the App Store.

We do not collect or store your payment card details. QuickReads may check subscription entitlement status through Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems in order to unlock or restore access that Apple has already authorised.

Third-Party Services and Infrastructure

QuickReads may rely on third-party services and infrastructure, including:

The Apple App Store and StoreKit for app distribution, updates, subscriptions, billing, and purchase restoration
Apple iCloud services, including CloudKit and iCloud Documents, for optional sync and backups
Apple analytics, diagnostics, or crash-reporting tools if enabled on your device
Moon Mermaids Media web infrastructure that hosts remote book cover image files, support pages, and install/onboarding event alert endpoints used by the app

These services operate under their own privacy terms, policies, and settings. Any analytics, diagnostics, iCloud storage, or purchase handling provided through Apple services is governed by Apple's systems and policies.

Children's Privacy

QuickReads is designed for a general audience and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can stop using the app at any time, uninstall it from your device, and manage analytics, diagnostics, notifications, subscriptions, iCloud sync, and backup settings through your Apple device settings and Apple ID account. If you contact us by email or visit support pages, you can also choose what information you share with us directly in those interactions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app improvements, legal requirements, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the effective date or last updated date on this page.
