Check-Ins & Scheduling

Last Seen helps you maintain a personal safety check-in routine. You choose a check-in frequency and preferred check-in time, then confirm you’re okay during your active check-in window.

If you check in on time, your schedule continues as normal. If you miss a check-in, the app marks you as due or overdue and can trigger alerts based on your settings.

Q: How do I check in?
A: Open Last Seen during your check-in window and tap the Check In button to confirm your status.

Q: Why is the Check In button disabled?
A: Once you’ve completed the current check-in window, the button is disabled until the next valid check-in window begins.

Q: Can I change my reminder time or frequency?
A: Yes. Open Settings in Last Seen to update your schedule whenever needed. Reminder and notification timing will realign to the updated check-in window.

Reminders & Alerts

Q: What happens if I miss a check-in?
A: Last Seen first marks the check-in as Due, then later advances it to Overdue based on your schedule. If you’ve added a trusted contact, the app can email them when the check-in becomes overdue.

Q: When does Overdue begin?
A: Overdue status is tied to your configured reminder time, not midnight. This keeps status changes aligned with your actual check-in schedule.

Q: I’m not receiving reminders or overdue alerts. What should I check?
A: Make sure notifications are enabled for Last Seen in your iPhone’s Settings, and confirm Focus or Silent modes are not suppressing alerts.

Q: Why didn’t my trusted contact get an email?
A: Confirm the email address is entered correctly in Settings and make sure you were actually marked overdue before expecting a trusted contact notification. If you recently changed your trusted contact details, only the latest active alert should remain scheduled.

Trusted Contacts

Q: Can I add or change my trusted contact?
A: Yes. Open Settings to add, update, or remove your trusted contact information at any time.

Q: What information is shared with my trusted contact?
A: If you become overdue, Last Seen can send them an email notification letting them know you missed your scheduled check-in.

iCloud Sync

Q: Does Last Seen sync across my devices?
A: Yes. Your check-ins and trusted contact details can sync across your devices using iCloud.

Q: What should I do if my data is not syncing?
A: Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple Account on each device and that iCloud is available and enabled for the app.

Settings & Reset

Q: Can I change my own name in the app?
A: Yes. You can update your own name anytime from Settings so your details stay current.

Q: What does Reset Setup remove?
A: Reset Setup clears your setup state, including your name, trusted contact, check-in history, and any active schedule so you can start fresh.

Q: I reinstalled the app. Will old overdue alerts still send?
A: No. The latest versions clean up stale overdue email schedules left behind by a previous setup or reinstall.
